A Hop Festival is taking place today and tomorrow at the Whit breads 1100 acre farm at Paddock Wood and thousands of Londoners are taking part in the festivities and it is hoped to develop out of it a national Hop Festival to compare with the Munich Beer Festival and the different big wine fetes in France. Also there was the coronation of a Hops Queen who was chosen among the two thousand girls from the various Hopfields of Kent who entered for the contest. Tug of War. 14th September 1950
