Teesside Town Planning and Development Committee has agreed to make a £ 40 grant towards the cost of repair work to the centuries old cottage, which is listed as a building of historic or architectural interest. The sundial was put up by an astronomer named Smith, who also designed the sundial that stands in Albert Park, Middlesbrough. 22nd June 1977
