A V Roe, one of the early pioneers of British aviation, test flying the second Roe 1 Triplane at Wembley Park in January 1910.
Fitted with a 20hp J.A.P. engine it was sufficient to allow circuits of the airfield with few mishaps.
The first Triplane is now in the Science Museum, while a replica of his first design, the Roe 1 biplane, can be seen at the Brooklands Museum in Surrey.
