Framed Print of The Clyde, LMS / LNER poster, 1923-1947
Poster produced jointly by London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) and London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) to promote rail travel to the Clyde River in Scotland. The poster shows a view of the Clyde approaching Brodick, Isle of Arran, North Ayrshire, with the water in the foreground with boats and a steamship, and green hills and mountains in the distance. Artwork by Norman Wilkinson (1878-1971), who studied art at Portsmouth and Southsea Schools of Art. A famous marine painter, he designed posters for the London and North Western Railway (LNWR), the London and Midlands Railway (LMR) and Southern Railway (SR). Dimensions: 1016 mm x 1270 mm. National Railway Museum is the home of iconic locomotives.
