"Bight: A Tale of Valor and Tragedy in World War II" During the dark days of World War II, Bristol Blenheims took to the skies for a daring raid on Kiel. The Customs House in Brisbane stood witness to their departure, as these brave pilots embarked on a mission that would test their mettle. Amongst them were sailors from HMS Glorious 77 and HMS Courageous 50, two illustrious vessels with storied histories. Little did they know that fate had something else in store for them. HMS Courageous, an esteemed aircraft carrier, sailed alongside her sister ship towards destiny. Their journey was fraught with danger but filled with hope as they carried the weight of a nation's expectations upon their sturdy decks. But tragedy struck when enemy fire found its mark - both HMS Courageous and HMS Glorious fell victim to relentless attacks. The once-mighty carriers succumbed to the unforgiving depths of the sea, leaving behind stories etched forever into history. The loss was immeasurable; lives sacrificed in service to their country. DDE-90027148 and DDE-90027147 became more than just numbers; they represented sons, brothers, fathers who gave everything for freedom's cause. Yet amidst this sorrowful tale emerged tales of heroism and resilience. The bight shone brightly through the darkness as countless acts of bravery illuminated even the bleakest moments. Today we remember those who fought valiantly during that fateful time – from the courageous crews aboard Bristol Blenheims to those who served aboard HMS Glorious 77 and HMS Courageous 50. May their sacrifice never be forgotten as we honor their memory and pay tribute to their unwavering spirit.
