In 1947, after a seven year break, Laing had resurrected their Area Outings for staff and their families, with trips taking place in May and June. In 1954, there were seven outings planned to take place over five weeks in May and June. This trip was for staff and their families from the South-West and South Wales including Bristol, Portishead, Plymouth and South Wales

by Coeman, Jacob (1651-76); 130A—190.5 cm; Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, The Netherlands; (add.info.: The Dutch East India company (Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie) flourished in the 17th and 18th centuries with an Asian capital at the port of Batavia, now Jakarta, on Java. Pieter Cnoll was the senior merchant who kept the accounts of the company in Asia, here with his half-Japanese wife Cornelia van Nijenroode, their children and local servants.
