The flameback woodpeckers are a stunning sight to behold in their natural habitats. In the Tadoba Andheri Tiger Reserve (TATR), the Greater Flameback Woodpecker can be seen scouting for the perfect nesting site. With its vibrant plumage and determined demeanor, this woodpecker is on a mission to find a safe haven for its future offspring. Meanwhile, in Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka, both adult male and female Black-rumped they are busy foraging for ants on tree trunks. These skilled hunters use their strong beaks to extract tasty treats from the bark, showcasing their resourcefulness and adaptability. In February, an adult male Black-rumped they are be observed diligently searching for food on another tree trunk in Polonnaruwa. The Dinopium benghalense psarodes endemic race showcases an adult male feeding in a dead tree during December in Sri Lanka. Their ability to thrive even in challenging environments highlights their resilience and adaptability.
