In the summer of 1992, Penny Farthing Cyclists gathered in Fowey, Cornwall to embark on a noble mission - fundraising for a cause close to their hearts. With determination and enthusiasm, they pedaled through the picturesque town, spreading awareness and collecting donations from kind-hearted locals. A month later, another group of Sponsored Cyclists took to the streets of Fowey with a similar purpose. Their commitment was unwavering as they cycled tirelessly to raise funds for those in need. The community rallied behind them, recognizing their selfless efforts. The following year, at St Bartholomew's Church in Lostwithiel, Cornwall, cyclists once again congregated for a charitable endeavor. As they prepared for their journey ahead, five-year-old Emily Fozzard stepped forward with her small contribution - an act that spoke volumes about the spirit of giving that prevailed among these fundraisers. Meanwhile, at South Crosland CE Junior School, children beamed with pride as they celebrated their own achievements in fundraising. Their hard work had paid off; their dedication had made a difference in someone's life. Service with a smile became synonymous with Slaithwaite Brownies who poured out coffees and raised funds effortlessly. These young girls exemplified compassion and generosity beyond their years. Salendine Nook High School witnessed an extraordinary moment when first-year pupils presented a massive cheque representing an equally impressive amount raised for charity. Their collective effort showcased unity and solidarity within the school community. Miss Examiner Madeleine Garbutt graciously accepted a generous donation towards her cause - proof that every individual can make an impact regardless of age or occupation. Excitement filled the air as winners were picked during raffles held by Examiner Bodyscanner Appeal organizers. A lucky recipient walked away with £500k while others rejoiced knowing that their contributions would go towards saving lives. Children from various schools participated eagerly in sponsored silences, ready to make a big noise for the appeal.
