This poignant moment symbolized the indomitable spirit of those who risked everything to keep global commerce flowing. In Evgeny Lanceray's painting "Allegory of International Trade, " we witness a visual representation of the interconnectedness fostered by merchant navies worldwide during the late 19th and early 20th centuries—an era defined by rapid globalization.
