But did you know that this iconic soft drink was born far away from these British shores? Journey across the Atlantic to New Bern, North Carolina, USA - the birthplace of Pepsi-Cola. It was here that a visionary pharmacist concocted this fizzy elixir that would soon become a global sensation. Venture further into history and discover the humble beginnings of Pepsi-Cola at a general store in Chacon, New Mexico. In 1943, under the watchful eye of John Collier, this small-town establishment played its part in shaping one of America's most beloved beverages. Traveling through time and space brings us to Lincoln, Nebraska during World War II. Seed and feed stores like these were not only vital for sustenance but also witnessed the rise of Pepsi-Cola's popularity. As captured by photographer John Vachon at Grand Grocery Co. , it is evident how deeply ingrained this beverage had become within American culture. The allure of Pepsi-Cola transcends borders as we find ourselves transported to Tulelake in Siskiyou County, California amidst potato pickers' camp in 1939. Dorothea Lange's lens captures everyday life against a backdrop where even amidst hardship; people found solace with their favorite soda pop - Pepsi-Cola. Fast forward to 1929 when aviation was taking flight with Travel Air Company's Travel Air D4D aircraft soaring through skies above cities around the world. Even then, passengers could quench their thirst with none other than an ice-cold bottle of Pepsi-Cola. Crossing continents once again takes us to Moscow during the American National Exhibition held in 1959.
