Sir Malcolm Campbell was a legendary figure in the world of motorsports, known for his daring and record-breaking feats. From racing at Brooklands to competing in Le Mans, he left an indelible mark on the sport. In 1933, Whitney Straight captured Sir Malcolm's Maserati as it gracefully maneuvered through the Members Bridge turn at Brooklands. The sheer skill and precision displayed by they were awe-inspiring. The pits before the start of the grueling Le Mans 24-hour Race in 1937 showcased the bustling atmosphere surrounding this prestigious event. Amongst all the chaos, Sir Malcolm remained calm and focused, ready to take on any challenge that lay ahead. Back in 1924, Saltburn Speed Trials witnessed Sir Malcolm pushing his Sunbeam 350hp to its limits. The determination etched on his face showed just how much he craved speed and success. In 1922, at Saltburn Sands once again, Sir Malcolm took control of an Austro Daimler Sascha with unwavering confidence. His relentless pursuit of excellence was evident even then. Teaming up with Godfrey Waters in their iconic Blue Bird Darracq in 1912, Sir Malcolm embarked on thrilling adventures that would become part of motorsport folklore. Their exploits captivated audiences worldwide. Brooklands became witness to another remarkable moment when a Lorraine Dietrich Blue Bird roared across its tracks with Sir Malcolm behind the wheel. This image perfectly encapsulated his passion for speed and innovation. Fast forward to Pendine Sands in 2015; Don Wales carried on his family legacy by driving a Sunbeam 350 hp once driven by none other than Sir Malcolm himself. The torch had been passed down through generations united by their love for speed. A bid for a new record consumed Sir Malcolm's thoughts in 1935 as he prepared himself mentally and physically for yet another groundbreaking achievement. The unknown challenges ahead only fueled his determination further.
