"Capturing the Frozen Beauty: Watercolour Chronicles of Antarctic Expeditions" Immerse yourself in a world of breathtaking landscapes and frozen wonders as we delve into the captivating artistry of watercolour. From Paraselena's ethereal glow at McMurdo Sound on a crisp June morning in 1911 to the vibrant hues adorning Trongate, Glasgow, this artistic medium has brought forth mesmerizing scenes from across time and space. Journey back to April 7, 1911, when Hut Point stood proudly amidst McMurdo Sound, its delicate features delicately captured on canvas. The majestic Mount Erebus looms large in another masterpiece painted at 6 pm on April 2nd that same year. Its towering presence evokes both awe and serenity as day transitions into night. Venture further south with Mount Longstaff's depiction at an astounding altitude of 13, 000 feet - a testament to man's relentless pursuit of discovery. The winter quarters reveal themselves through strokes of paint; McMurdo Sound emerges before our eyes with its icy expanse stretching towards the horizon. Gaze upon Castle Rock beneath Mount Erebus on that fateful August afternoon in 1903; witness nature's grandeur unfold through curtain auroras dancing across the sky. Iridescent clouds grace Cape Evans' Ramp as they shimmer under the gaze of an artist captivated by their otherworldly beauty on August 9th, 1911. Paraselena returns once more - this time illuminating Cape Evans' landscape during a late evening hour on January 15th, offering us a glimpse into its mystical allure. Ascend Observation Hill and experience Hut Point bathed in golden light during January twilight hours - an enchanting sight forever immortalized by skilled hands holding brushes. Amongst these frozen realms lie human stories too; three men huddled together within a pyramid tent symbolize camaraderie against all odds.
