Startled by this sudden encounter, one can only imagine the astonishment witnessed on that fateful day - another captivating scene depicted through a striking colour litho. However, not all encounters with these majestic creatures end peacefully. A furious cow once took a man's life before meeting its own tragic fate under the crushing wheels of a passing train between Lucca and Castelnuovo.
