Atlas moth is a very large moth and often considered the largest moth in the world. They are found in tropical and subtropical forests of Southeast Asia. In India some cultivate these moth for their silk. The brown wool-like silk known as fagara are thought to be more durable than that produced by the Silkworm moth. Atlas moth cocoons have been used as purses in Taiwan. These moth have no mouths and don t eat once they emerge from their cocoons. they rely on the fat stored from their immature stages of life.
