Zeltweg, a small town in Austria, has witnessed some of the most thrilling moments in motorsport history. From hosting the Formula One World Championship's Austrian Grand Prix in 1973 to being a part of iconic races like the Sutton Images Grand Prix Decades in the 1970s, it has always been at the heart of racing action. In 1976, Laurent Aiello from Team Abt Audi TT dominated the DTM Championship, leaving his competitors trailing behind. The roaring engines and screeching tires echoed through Zeltweg as he claimed victory after victory. The Formula One World Championship also left its mark on this picturesque town. Patrick Tambay, driving for McLaren-Cosworth, battled against all odds to finish tenth in one race. His determination and skill showcased why he was considered one of the best drivers of his time. Frank Williams, owner of ISO Williams Team, found solace amidst his race cars in Zeltweg. Sitting inside one of them with a sense of pride and accomplishment must have brought him immense joy as he watched his team conquer new heights. But Zeltweg is not just about fast cars; it also holds historical significance. The Supermarine Spitfire LF-9E/LF-IXE planes that once soared through its skies during World War II remind us that this town has seen both triumph and tragedy. Over the years, Zeltweg continued to host various championships such as International Formula 3000 Championship and Formula BMW ADAC Championship. These events attracted talented young drivers who dreamt of making their mark on this legendary circuit. Even today, Zeltweg remains an important destination for motorsport enthusiasts worldwide. Whether it's witnessing thrilling DTM races or cheering for future stars at Red Bull Junior Team Playstation 2 Event or FIA F3000 International Championship - there is never a dull moment here.
