Caption: In this powerful photo print, taken in 1941, we see Sir Winston Churchill deep in contemplation as he surveys the devastating ruins of the House of Commons. The iconic image captures a defining moment during World War II when incendiary bombs ravaged the Palace of Westminster and reduced the Commons Chamber to ashes.
