The Peasants' Revolt, also known as the Peasants' War or the Great Rising, was a widespread uprising against the oppressive feudal system and the high taxes imposed by the English Crown. Tyler, a humble tenant farmer, had emerged as the figurehead of the rebellion, leading a vast army of peasants, artisans, and laborers towards London with the intention of presenting their grievances directly to King Richard II. However, upon reaching the city, the rebels were met with a well-prepared royal army, and a violent confrontation ensued.
