This antique print showcases the enigmatic Pharaoh Merneptah, the third son and successor of the renowned Ramesses II, who ruled Egypt during the Thirteenth Dynasty. The image, an exquisite piece of Egyptian art, depicts Merneptah in a mid-length torso statue, seated on a throne with his arms crossed in front of his chest. The pharaoh's serene, aged face is shown with a slight furrowed brow, as if deep in thought or contemplation. The intricately detailed carvings on the statue reveal the pharaoh's regal attire, including the nemes headdress, a symbol of royal power and authority, and the false beard, a representation of the god Osiris.
