St. Michaels Mount: A Cornish Masterpiece by Lieutenant Ernest Stafford Carlos Nestled in the English Channel off the coast of Cornwall lies the enchanting St. Michaels Mount, a small tidal island renowned for its picturesque village, ancient harbor, and imposing castle. In this stunning topographical painting by Lieutenant Ernest Stafford Carlos, we are transported back in time to a moment when the island's beauty was unmarred by modern development. Carlos, a member of the 8th Battalion Royal East Kents, captured the essence of this Cornish landmark with remarkable detail and precision.
