The Gypsy Queen was Lilly McDonnell, and the group travelled in a decorated cart pulled by a horse nicknamed Asquith. They stopped in Halstead, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells. Date: 1913

The Gypsy Wanderers, as they came to be known, set out from Lincoln's Inn with a mission to spread awareness of their cause through the rural areas of Kent. Led by the enigmatic Gypsy Queen, Lilly McDonnell, the group travelled in a beautifully decorated cart pulled by a horse named Asquith.
