Poster produced for London & North Eastern Railway (LNER) to promote rail travel to Whitby, North Yorkshire. The poster shows a white-haired man and young boy holding a model ship standing on the harbourside, with Abbey harbourside in the background. Artwork by Austin Cooper, a Canadian who studied art in Cardiff and Arbroath. He began his career as a commercial artist in Montreal, but returned to London in 1922 and designed posters for LNER, Indian State Railways and London Transport. His first show was held at the London Gallery in 1948. Dimensions: 1016 mm x 1270 mm

The poster, created by talented artist Austin Cooper for the London & North Eastern Railway (LNER), beautifully captures the essence of this charming coastal town.
