Painting entitled Above the Black Sea painted by cosmonaut Aleksei Leonov. It is a self-portrait depicting Leonov during the first spacewalk during the Voskhod 2 mission. Pavel Ivanovich Belyayev (1925-70) and Aleksei Arkhipovich Leonov (b.1934) flew on the Voskhod 2 mission on 18-19 March 1965. During this flight, Leonov became the first person to make a space walk. Belyayev never flew into space again, but Leonov was part of the 1974 Apollo-Soyuz Test project where Russian and American spacecraft docked in orbit
