Voskhod-2. The rocket carrying the Voskhod-2 spacecraft sitting on tis launchpad. Voskhod-2 was launched on 18 March 1965, carrying cosmonauts Alexei Leonov and Pavel Belyayev. During the 26-hour mission Leonov performed the first ever spacewalk. He used a special inflatable airlock to exit the spacecrafts capsule, while Belyayev remained inside. The spacewalk took place over the Ukraine and Caucasus mountains, and lasted 10 minutes. An umbilical cable carried oxygen to Leonov, as well as acting as his lifeline.
