This stunning oil painting captures a historic moment in European monarchy history: The Princess of Orange, Anna Pavlovna (1805-1865), receiving Grand Duke Alexander II of Russia, future Emperor Alexander II (1818-1881), in the Czar Peter's House in Zaandam, Netherlands, on April 17, 1839.
