Bunyans Cottage, Elstow, Bedford, 1943. House lived in by John Bunyan (1628-1688), an English nonconformist preacher and writer. Bunyan was the author of the famous allegory " The Pilgrims Progress". Over the course of his life Bunyan spent just over twelve years in prison in Bedford, for preaching without a licence. Elstow cottage was demolished in 1968 by the Department of Transport.
