Letter from Queen Elizabeth I to James VI of Scotland, 5th January 1603. Letter from Elizabeth I to James VI of Scotland (afterwards James I of England) repelling charges brought against her policy by Philip II of Spain, and warning him not to believe them. The date, eleven weeks before Elizabeths death, is obtained from the endorsement of a copy in the Public Record Office. From the first series of Facsimiles of royal, historical, literary and other autographs in the Department of Manuscripts, British Museum: Series I - V, (London, 1899)
