This striking photograph captures the moment during King George IV's coronation in July 1821, when Henry William Paget, 1st Marquess of Anglesey (1768-1854), carried the historic St. Edward's Crown as the Lord High Steward of England. Dressed in the grand attire of the time, Anglesey wears a velvet cloak lined with ermine, a white satin garter, and white tights. He cradles the ornate crown, adorned with precious stones and gold, with a sense of reverence and dignity.
