With a length of 21 feet 6 inches and a weight of 22 tons, this early steam engine boasted a powerful 1,040 pounds of boiler pressure. Next is the "West," an engine built by Sharp, Stewart and Company in 1855. Measuring 24 feet 6 inches in length and weighing 27 tons, this locomotive featured a larger boiler capacity and improved steam efficiency. The third engine, the "Evolution," was built by the North Eastern Railway Company in 1863. With a length of 30 feet 6 inches and a weight of 41 tons, this engine represented a significant leap forward in locomotive design, boasting a more powerful boiler and larger cylinders.
