Summer spectacular... these Newsome youngsters entered the fashion world for two days to take part in the annual Newsome High School fashion show. The event, which ended last night, included pupils of Newsome High and Newsome Junior Schools, and showed a variety of fashions from leisure to bridal wear and a range of hired ball-gowns. It was organised by textile teacher Gillan Capewell, who was hoping to raise around £ 400 so textile department pupils can take part in more practical work. 25th June 1991
