Chichester, 27th October 1956. 200 people, members of Bonfire Societies from Beeding and Bramber, Shoreham, Littlehampton, Patching and Chichester, formed a procession at the Cattle Market, which passed through Market Avenue, South Street, East Street, the Hornet and Oving Road to Florence Road playing field, where they threw their torches onto a bonfire and danced around it.
