Daughter of Princess Helena and Prince Christian of Schleswig-Holstein, and granddaughter of the esteemed Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom, Helena Victoria was born into a prestigious royal family. The Princess is depicted here in an exquisite fur coat, adding an air of sophistication and warmth to her appearance. Her father, Prince Christian, was the second son of King Christian IX of Denmark, making Helena Victoria a Danish princess as well as a British princess by descent. Despite her royal status, Helena Victoria's life was not without tragedy. In 1891, she was involved in a carriage accident that left her with a broken leg and a permanent limp. She went on to marry Prince Frederick of Schleswig-Holstein in 1896, but the union was short-lived as Frederick was killed in a hunting accident just two years later. Helena Victoria remained a prominent figure in royal circles throughout her life, and her legacy continues to be celebrated as an important part of European royal history.
