Oxton House, Devon: A Regency Gem Residing in the Heart of Devonshire Countryside Nestled in the picturesque Devonshire countryside, Oxton House stands proudly as a testament to the elegance and charm of the Regency era. This exquisite seat, belonging to the Reverend John Beaumont Swete, is depicted in this handcoloured copperplate engraving from Rudolph Ackermann's Repository of Arts, published in London in 1827. The enchanting image reveals the exterior of Oxton House, its symmetrical facade adorned with tall, elegant windows and a grand central doorway, framed by intricately carved pillars.
