The Prince, whose full title was Wilhelm Eitel Friedrich Christian Karl, was a member of the German princely House of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen, ruling the Prussian Crown Prince from 1906 until his death in 1925. His bride, Sophia Charlotte, was the eldest daughter of the Grand Duke Frederick Augustus II of Oldenburg and Princess Anna of Russia.
