The Avro Lincoln was a British heavy bomber and maritime patrol aircraft, which was developed as a successor to the renowned Avro Lancaster. This particular prototype, registration number PW932, was the third of six prototypes built by Avro Aircraft Ltd. for the Royal Air Force (RAF). The Lincoln was a significant advancement over its predecessor, featuring a more powerful engine and an increased wingspan, which improved its bomb-carrying capacity and operational range. The aircraft was also equipped with advanced defensive armament, including 14 machine guns and a tail turret.
