EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph showcases the Hawker Siddeley HS-125 series 1B, registration N125Y, at Van Nuys Airport in California. The HS-125, manufactured by Hawker Siddeley Aviation Ltd, made its first flight as a series 1A/522 (msn 25095) on June 8, 1966, and was later used for flight testing by Pitts Industries. In 1968, the aircraft was sold to Sam Hashman Management Corporation. The HS-125, also known as the Hawker 125, is a twin-engine business jet that was popular for its speed, range, and cabin comfort. N125Y, with its distinctive blue and white livery, was one of the early examples of this successful aircraft. The image captures the sleek and elegant design of the HS-125, with its pointed wings, twin tail, and the distinctive Hawker Siddeley logo on the tailfin. The aircraft's engines, located under the wings, are visible in the photograph, adding to the overall impression of power and sophistication. Unfortunately, the history of N125Y took a turn in October 1990 when it was last registered as N831LC with Prestige Tours. However, the details of its later history are not available. This photograph serves as a reminder of the HS-125's impressive legacy and its place in the history of business aviation.
