EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph showcases the Klemm Kl.107C D-ELOQ (msn 150), a classic aviation icon, at Coventry-Baginton Airfield around 1961. Originally registered in Germany, this aircraft bore the registration number D-ELOQ before making its journey to the United Kingdom. In June 1962, it was re-registered under the UK Civil Aviation Authority as G-ASAW (C of R R7645/1) and became part of Flair Aviation Sales Company Ltd.'s fleet based at Biggin Hill, Kent. The sleek and agile Klemm Kl.107C was a popular choice for private owners and enthusiasts, and its distinctive design and impressive performance made it a favorite among aviation aficionados. Unfortunately, this aircraft's story took a tragic turn on 5 January 1965, when it was written off after crashing into the English Channel off Littlehampton, Sussex. Despite its untimely end, the Klemm Kl.107C D-ELOQ continues to be remembered as an iconic piece of aviation history. This photograph offers a rare glimpse into a bygone era of flight, capturing the essence of a time when the thrill of aviation was in its infancy and the world was just beginning to discover the freedom and excitement of the open skies.
