The Thunderjet, a beloved aircraft of the Koninklijke Luchtmacht (Royal Netherlands Air Force, or Klu), was transferred from the United States to the Netherlands on 7 April 1953 and was given the registration K-171. However, it was retired from active service on 14 April 1953. Fast forward to circa 1967, and this historic aircraft could be found in storage at the National Military Museum (NMM) in Soesterberg, Netherlands.
