Spike-the bride-goon. The essence of good (bride) grooming that was Spike Milligan at his wedding yesterday. Goonery was out as Spike donned topper and tails and a shy smile-the lot-for his marriage to singer and actress Pat Ridgway, 26. Fans who flocked to the R.C. Chruch at Rawdon, near Leeds, saw Spike playing it straight for once in his life. After the reception in Harrogate Hotel, Spike and his bride left for the traditional " secret honeymoon". It was all so conventional, really...(thanks to Spike!). May 1962 P011412

Spike-the bride-goon - A Grooming Transformation
EDITORS COMMENTS
. In this photo print, we witness the remarkable transformation of the legendary Spike Milligan on his wedding day. Known for his comedic brilliance and goonery, Spike surprises fans as he embraces tradition and sophistication. Dressed in a dapper topper and tails, he exudes an air of elegance rarely seen before. Following the heartfelt ceremony, a joyous reception took place at Harrogate Hotel where friends and family celebrated their union. As night fell, Spike and Pat embarked on their "secret honeymoon" leaving behind all traces of eccentricity for a more conventional escape. This snapshot captures not only a momentous occasion but also reveals another side to Spike Milligan's multifaceted personality.
