Picture to accompany the " Robot Revolution" feature which ran in the Daily Mirror newspaper on the week commencing 27th June 1955.
Picture shows: An operator at work using " LEO" the electronic computer which is run along with another two operators and engineers at Lyons Electronic Office in Cadby Hall, Kensington.
The computer deals with payrolls, Lyons shop requirements, stock control, tea blending and many other clerical jobs for Lyons as well as helping out aircraft companies with such problems as metal fatigue.
It is estimated to save the work of 200 clerks and the cost of £ 1000 per annum.
