A Helicopter trip back to 300 B. C. : For nine months a small
A Helicopter trip back to 300 B.C.: For nine months a small, hardy group of people have been living an authentic Iron Age existence in a specially-constructed village at a secret location in Englands West Country. Living in thatched huts with mud walls, they wear smelly animal skins and coarsely-woven cloaks, clean their teeth with sea salt and shaven twigs and use leaves instead of toilet paper. The group, now comprising five couples, is recreating life in 300 B.C. in a one-year experiment for BBC Television which will produce a series of programmes from film shot by cameramen who are not permitted to aid the group in any Twentieth Century way. Originally another couple the Ainsworths, and their three children were part of the group but one childs sickness forced them to leave in December. These pictures, obtained when the British newspaper Sunday People hired a helicopter to find the secret location (but kept in secret), represent the first look at the Iron Age village.
