The Marquess of Bath may be one of yer aristocrats. But hes a matey sort of bloke

The Marquess of Bath may be one of yer aristocrats. But hes a matey sort of bloke. Mixes with the coach trippers who wander around his stately home at Longleat. Still, its rather surprising to find that a lion - king of the jungle and all that should take this kind of thing to heart as well. Here, however, is the proof. One of the Longlet lions appropriately named " Marquess " wearing a safety helmet just like one of the workers building a restaurant there. And going as far as to join them in a tea break. " Marquess " didn t actually do any work, of course. That really would be too much to expect.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this photo print, we catch a glimpse of the unexpected camaraderie between the Marquess of Bath and his regal lion companion. Despite being an aristocrat, the Marquess proves himself to be a down-to-earth and friendly bloke as he mingles with coach trippers exploring his magnificent stately home at Longleat. However, it is truly astonishing to witness that even the king of the jungle takes things to heart in such a peculiar way. Here we see one of Longleat's lions appropriately named "Marquess" donning a safety helmet just like the hardworking builders constructing a restaurant on-site. In fact, he goes as far as joining them during their tea break! Of course, "Marquess" doesn't actually engage in any laborious tasks; that would surely be too much to expect from our feline friend. The photograph captures an endearing moment as everyone gathers for lunch. From left to right: Dave Beanland, Ginger Hall, Marquess the lion (looking rather proud in his headgear), Richard Congdon, Clive Webb, Mike Inman, Mike Harding, Charlie Gilbert, Graham Mathews, Brian Russell and Eric Rendell. This snapshot was taken on February 1st in 1968 amidst England's picturesque Wiltshire countryside. Maurice Tibbles skillfully immortalizes this extraordinary encounter between man and beast through his lens. It serves as a reminder that sometimes even those who hold great power can find joy in simple connections with others – whether they walk on two legs or four paws.
