At the beginning of the New Year thousands of sailors, marines

At the beginning of the New Year thousands of sailors, marines, soldiers and airmen of Combined Operations Command will be wearing the Commands new badge.
For the first time in history men in the Navies, the-Armies, and the Air Forces of Britain, the Dominions, America and the Allies will all be entitled to wear the same badge -- a symbol of unity in Service for the United Nations.
The badge, which is red on blue, and is identical for all three Services, consists of a stockless anchor, a Tommy gun and an eagle, representing the sea. land and air forces. The head of the
eagle follows the design of the American insignia to symbolise the inclusion of United States
personnel in the Command.
Men of the United States and Allied Forces associated with the Command will wear the badge in

EDITORS COMMENTS
At the dawn of a new year, a powerful symbol of unity emerges among the brave men serving in Combined Operations Command. In this photo print, thousands of sailors, marines, soldiers, and airmen proudly display their newly acquired badge. For the first time in history, servicemen from Britain, its Dominions, America, and Allied Forces are entitled to wear the same emblem - an emblem that represents their unwavering commitment to the United Nations. The badge itself is a striking combination of red on blue and remains identical across all three Services. It features a stockless anchor symbolizing the sea forces alongside a Tommy gun representing land forces. Completing this triumvirate is an eagle signifying air power. Notably inspired by the American insignia design, it serves as a testament to our inclusion of United States personnel within our ranks. Men hailing from both the United States and Allied Forces associated with Combined Operations Command will don this prestigious badge in accordance with British Service regulations. As we enter December 1942 amidst World War II's turmoil, let us remember these courageous individuals who stand united under one banner for peace and freedom. This remarkable photograph captures not just an image but also echoes through time as a reminder of sacrifice and camaraderie within our armed forces during this pivotal era.
