At one minute past midnight on 4th June 1945, when strolling a convoy some 500 miles off the coast of Ireland, she received the " cease patrol" order and thanks.

On June 4th, 1945, at precisely one minute past midnight, while patrolling a convoy located approximately 500 miles off the coast of Ireland, this remarkable aircraft received the order to cease patrol. The crew of "Z for Zebra" is proudly showcased from left to right in this image. Wing Commander J. Barrett, DFC (captain), hailing from Seafield in Neston, Cheshire; Warrant Officer W. A. Harvey (first pilot) representing Gilfach in Bargoed, Glamorgan; Flying Officer J. C. Coffey (second pilot) all the way from Hamilton in Ontario, Canada; Flight Lieutenant R. D. Fairley (first navigator), honored with the Order of Patriotic War (Russian), residing in Backwell Heath, Bucks; Flight Sergeant R. J. L Armstrong (second navigator) originating from Brisbane and living on Heal Street in New Farm; Flight Sergeant A.
