The artwork is an exquisite example of etching and engraving techniques, skillfully executed on a large sheet measuring approximately 9 3/4 x 76 3/8 inches (248 x 194 cm). The artist behind this remarkable piece is Dirk Volckertsz Coornhert, a renowned Netherlandish painter from Amsterdam. Born in Gouda around the years 1519-1522 and passing away in Haarlem in 1590, Coornhert left an indelible mark on the art world during his lifetime. This particular work is based on an original creation by Maarten van Heemskerck, another celebrated Dutch artist who lived between the years of 1498 and1574. The Liszt Collection has beautifully reproduced this historic artwork through high-quality printing techniques to ensure its longevity and visual impact. This print allows art enthusiasts to appreciate every intricate detail of Coornhert's interpretation of Heemskerck's original composition.
