The Aguara-dog, also known as the Falkland Islands fox or warrah, was a medium-sized mammal with a distinctive appearance, featuring a long snout, pointed ears, and a bushy tail. They were well-adapted to their island home, with thick fur to endure the cold climate and strong legs for navigating the rocky terrain. Unfortunately, the Aguara-dog's story is one of extinction. By the late 1800s, they had been hunted to the brink of extinction due to competition with introduced species, such as feral pigs and dogs, as well as habitat loss. The last confirmed sighting of an Aguara-dog was in 1876, making it an intriguing and poignant subject for naturalists and historians.
