The top left section of the image showcases the enigmatic figure of the Revolutionary leader, dressed in the uniform of a slain British general. With an estimated 10,000 followers, this charismatic figure had led a rebellion that infested the Central Chen-Si region. The top right corner of the photograph introduces us to S. Eugenio Massi (1875-1944), the Apostolic Vicar of Central Chen-Si, China, and a Missionary of the Society of the Divine Child Jesus (G.F.C.I.).
