Pure Magic - A Timeless Delight for Liverpool's Youngsters

EDITORS COMMENTS
. In the winter of 1982, more than 2000 wide-eyed youngsters gathered at Liverpool's Empire Theatre to experience the enchantment of the beloved Cinderella pantomime. The air buzzed with excitement as children from all walks of life eagerly anticipated an afternoon filled with laughter and wonder. Organized by the Merseyside Children's Foundation, this special trip was a dream come true for these lucky boys and girls. Among them was Eileen, a spirited ten-year-old from Birkenhead who couldn't believe her luck when she came face-to-face with Cinderella herself, played by the talented Stacey Gregg. As they watched in awe, little hearts were captivated by dazzling costumes and whimsical sets that transported them into a fairy tale world. Laughter echoed through the theater as comedic characters brought their mischievous antics to life on stage. From magical transformations to heartwarming friendships, every moment unfolded like pure magic before their eyes. The joyous atmosphere extended beyond the performance itself – it was an unforgettable Christmas treat that created lasting memories for everyone involved. And amidst all this merriment stood Frank Loughlin, capturing each precious moment through his lens. Decades later, this photograph serves as a nostalgic reminder of a time when innocence reigned supreme and dreams knew no bounds. It encapsulates not only one young girl's encounter with her favorite princess but also represents countless childhoods enriched by shared experiences
