Enhanced image of a Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton
Tyrannosaurus Rex. Computer enhanced image of a fossilised Tyrannosaurus rex dinosaur skeleton. Tyrannosaurus (" tyrant reptile" ) was a large carn- ivore, being about 14 metres (m) long, 5m tall and weighing about 7 tonnes. Its mouth contained sharp, doubly-serrated teeth that were up to 15 centimetres long. Tyrannosaurus rexs front legs were tiny in comparison to its body. It walked on its two hind legs, the weight of its body being counterbalanced by a heavy tail. It was one of the last dinosaurs to evolve, first appearing about 70 million years ago before becoming extinct at the end of the Cretaceous period (65 million years ago) along with the other dinosaurs

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases an enhanced image of a Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton, offering us a glimpse into the prehistoric world. The computer-enhanced technology brings to life the fossilized remains of this magnificent dinosaur species. Tyrannosaurus rex, meaning "tyrant reptile" was an awe-inspiring carnivore that roamed the Earth approximately 70 million years ago during the Cretaceous period. This colossal creature measured around 14 meters in length, stood at an impressive height of 5 meters, and weighed a staggering 7 tonnes. Its fearsome mouth housed sharp teeth with double serrations, reaching up to 15 centimeters in length. Interestingly, despite its massive size, T. rex had disproportionately tiny front legs compared to its body. It relied on walking upright on its two hind legs while maintaining balance with its heavy tail acting as a counterweight. As one of the last dinosaurs to evolve before their extinction event about 65 million years ago, this iconic predator holds immense significance in paleontology and our understanding of Earth's history. This remarkable photograph not only captures the intricate details of T. rex's skeletal structure but also serves as a testament to our fascination with these ancient creatures that once ruled our planet's landscapes millions of years ago.
