Countess Constance Markievicz (1868 - 1927)

Constance Markievicz, the elder daughter of Sir Henry Gore-Booth. While living in Paris she met the Polish Count Casimir Markievicz who she married in 1900. Later settling in Dublin, she became involved in nationalist politics, joining Sinn Fein. She was arrested following the 1916 Easter Rising in which she had taken an active part.
