Flying bombs, also known as V-1s, were the first guided missiles used in warfare, and their destructive force was unmatched by any previous weapon. The main destructive force of the flying bomb was its explosive warhead, which weighed over a ton and was filled with TNT or amatol. Upon impact, the blast wave created by the explosion was so intense that it could level entire buildings and reduce structures to rubble. The pressure wave could also shatter windows and cause secondary damage from flying debris.
